Eligibility
The educational qualification is as per National Medical Commission (NMC erstwhile MCI) guidelines. Retired or working Professors may also apply for the eligible posts. Candidates must have updated Medical Registration (NMC or State Medical Council) with all post MBBS, MD or MS qualifications.
Age limit
The age limit is counted as on the 15th of every month. It is not exceeding 69 years for all posts except Senior Resident, and not exceeding 45 years for Senior Resident. Age relaxation is as per the prevailing norms of the Government of India.
The maximum tenure of such engagement is till 70 years of age for teaching faculty, or the contract period, whichever is earlier.

Selection process
The selection will be made on the basis of acquired academic credentials and performance of the candidate in the interview before the Selection Board. The result will be displayed in the Recruitments section of the website www.esic.gov.in. The offer of appointment will be sent through email only.
Terms of contract and points to check
- The tenure of all the posts is 1 year, or joining of the regular incumbent, or attainment of 70 years of age, whichever is earlier.
- Candidates selected have to deposit Rs. 20,000/- as Security Deposit. It will be forfeited if the selected candidate resigns or leaves within six months of joining, or in case of termination by the institute.
- No claim for any service benefits like PF, Pension, Gratuity, Medical Allowance, Medical Benefits, Seniority or Promotion will be admissible.
- No private practice is allowed in any capacity after joining as teaching faculty.
- Selected candidates involved in patient care and clinical management must have a professional indemnity policy covering the period of contract. The minimum sum per annum is Rs.20 lakhs for the department of Chest and Rs.10 lakhs for the department of Biochemistry, Pathology, Microbiology, Dermatology, Radiology, Psychiatry and Dental.
- Candidates working in Govt./Autonomous/Statutory/Private Institution should preferably have an NOC from their employer at the time of interview. In case of immediate non-availability, a copy of the applied-for NOC is to be submitted at the time of interview.
- Any candidate can be appointed against any unfilled vacant reserved category post for 44 days with provision of possible extension, if required.
