North Western Railway has issued notification 04/2026 (NWR/AA) for engagement of Act Apprentices across 8 workshops and divisions against 2,008 slots. Online applications open on 7 October 2026 and close on 6 November 2026 at 23.59 Hrs. Candidates with a 10th class pass (minimum 50% aggregate) and an ITI certificate in the notified trade can apply at www.rrcjaipur.in. Educational and Technical Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must possess the requisite educational and technical qualifications from a recognized Board or Institute as on the date of submitting the online application:

• Academic Qualification: Must have passed 10 class examination or its equivalent under 10+2 examination system with minimum 50% marks (no rounding off will be done), in aggregate, from recognized Board.
• Technical Qualification: Must possess National Trade Certificate in the notified trade issued by National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT) or State Council for Vocational Training (SCVT).
• Awaiting Results: Candidates awaiting results of the final exams need not apply.

Age Limit and Category-Wise Age Relaxation

The candidate must have completed 15 years of age and not have completed 24 years of age as on 6 November 2026.

Upper age relaxation is granted to reserved category applicants in accordance with extant rules:

For Ex-servicemen, upper age limit is relaxable by up to additional 10 years to the extent of service rendered in Defence Forces plus 3 years provided they have put in a minimum of 6 months service at a stretch.

Application Fee and Exemption Details

Application fees is non-refundable and must be submitted through online payment modes during the form submission:

Payment must be made online through payment gateway as part of online application process using debit card/credit card/internet banking. Fee note: Non-refundable.

Selection Process and Merit List Preparation

Selection will be on the basis of merit list prepared in respect of all the candidates who apply against the notification:

1. The merit list will be prepared on the basis of percentage of marks in matriculation (with minimum 50% aggregate marks) + ITI marks in the trade in which Apprenticeship is to be done.
2. The panel will be on the basis of simple average of marks in the matriculation and ITI.
3. For matriculation percentage, marks obtained in all subjects will be reckoned. For ITI percentage, marks mentioned in provisional/final certificate will be reckoned.
4. In case of two candidates having the same marks, the candidate with older age shall be preferred. If dates of birth are also same, the candidate who passed matriculation exam earlier shall be considered first.
5. Candidates finally enlisted would be subject to verification of original testimonials and production of medical certificate as per Annexure-IV.

Training Period and Stipend

Selected candidates are engaged under the Apprentices Act 1961 across workshops and divisions of North Western Railway:

• Training period & stipend will be as per extant rules & directives issued by Railway Board from time to time.
• Imparting training in railway will not confer any right to the candidates for their absorption in railway after completion of training.

How to Apply Online at RRC Jaipur

Eligible candidates can submit their applications ONLINE only on RRC Jaipur website i.e. www.rrcjaipur.in:

1. Candidates are required to apply ONLINE by visiting www.rrcjaipur.in.
2. Log on to the RRC/Jaipur website provided for filling ONLINE applications and fill up personal details carefully.
3. Candidates should be in possession of Aadhaar Card. At the time of registration, candidates have to fill 12 digit Aadhaar Card number.
4. Upload colour photograph and signature in JPG/JPEG format according to the prescribed specifications.
5. Pay the application fee of Rs 100 online through the payment gateway if applicable.
6. Keep printouts of the online application form to be produced at the time of Document Verification.

Required Documents and Image Upload Guidelines

Candidates are required to upload photograph and signature meeting the exact technical standards:

• Colour Photograph: Colour photograph (size 3.5 cm x 3.5 cm, not earlier than three months from the date of application in colour, JPG/JPEG format, 100 DPI, size of the file should be between 20 kb-70 kb) with clear front view without cap and sunglasses.
• Signature: Scanned signature (size 3.5 cm x 2.5 cm, JPG/JPEG format, 100 DPI, size of the file should be between 20 kb - 30kb).

Medical Examination Standards

Medical fitness certificate for standard of physical fitness for engagement as Act Apprentice:

• Medical fitness certificate should be signed by Government authorized Doctor (Gaz), not below the rank of Assistant Surgeon of Central / State Hospital.

Reservation Rules and Community Guidelines

Reservation for SC, ST, OBC, EWS, PwBD, and Ex-Servicemen is applied strictly according to official guidelines:

• SC/ST candidates must produce Caste certificate in Central Government format as per sample Annexure-I at Document Verification.
• OBC candidates must produce Caste certificate and Non-Creamy Layer Certificate issued on or after 1/4/2026 on Central Government format as per sample Annexure-II.
• EWS candidates must produce EWS certificate on prescribed format as per sample Annexure-III at Document Verification.
• Seats of PwBD and Ex-Servicemen are not separate, but included in the total number of seats.
