Eligibility and Educational Qualifications
For Group C Level-4 and Level-5 posts, the minimum educational qualification is a University Degree or its equivalent from recognized University. For Group C Level-2 and Level-3 posts, candidates must have passed Class 12th (10+2 stage) or its equivalent examination. Candidates who passed 10th plus ITI or National Apprenticeship Certificate are also eligible for technical posts. For Group D Level-1 posts, the minimum educational qualification is 10th pass or ITI or equivalent or National Apprenticeship Certificate. Candidates appearing in or awaiting results of final examinations are not eligible to apply. Only sports achievements earned on or after 01.04.2024 are accepted for recruitment. The concluding day of the championship or tournament event shall be taken into consideration for eligibility.

Age Limit and Cut-Off Dates

Application Fee and Refund Details
The examination fee for candidates belonging to UR and OBC categories is Rs 500. For SC, ST, Ex-Servicemen, Persons with Disabilities, Women, Minorities, and Economically Backward Classes, the fee is Rs 250. The examination fee must be paid online through Internet Banking, Debit Cards, or Credit Cards. Fees submitted through cash, cheque, money order, or demand draft will not be accepted and applications will be rejected. Candidates who attend the selection trials are eligible for refund of their examination fee. An amount of Rs 400 will be refunded to UR and OBC candidates who actually appear in the trial. The full fee of Rs 250 will be refunded to reserved categories who appear in the trial after deducting bank charges.

Selection Procedure and Exam Pattern
Selection will be based upon performance in sports trials followed by certificate verification by a duly constituted Recruitment Committee. The total marks for the selection procedure are 100 marks. A maximum of 50 marks is allocated for recognized sports achievement as per norms. Games skill, physical fitness and coach observation during Trial carries 40 marks with minimum 25 marks for qualifying. The minimum marks for qualifying in games skill and physical fitness during trial is 25 marks. Educational qualification carries 10 marks out of total 100 marks. In PB-1 with Grade Pay Rs 2400/2800, the minimum qualifying marks are 70 out of 100. In PB-1 with Grade Pay Rs 1900/2000, the minimum qualifying marks are 65 out of 100. In PB-1 with Grade Pay Rs 1800, the minimum qualifying marks are 60 out of 100. In case more than one sportspersons score the same mark in a given discipline, preference would be given to the younger candidate.

Sports Trial and Interview Rules
No TA, DA, or accommodation will be given for appearing in the selection trial. Candidates will have to bring their own kit and may also be required to stay during the selection for 2 to 3 days. Original documents of Date of Birth, Educational Qualification and Sports Achievements and Identification proof must be produced on the day of Trial. SC and ST candidates will be eligible for free rail travel in second class for attending Sports Trials.
Documents Required to be Uploaded
Color passport-size photograph with white or light background of size 3.5 cm X 3.5cm up to 70 KB in JPG format should be uploaded. Candidates are advised to keep at least 06 copies of the same photograph for further use during the recruitment process. The applicant has to sign and put LTI on white paper with Black Ink within a box of size 50 mm x 20 mm with file size between 10 to 40 KB. Self-attested copy of a valid photo identity card issued by a government body like Aadhaar, PAN card, Driving License, or Voter ID Card should be uploaded. Self-attested certificate in proof of educational qualification issued by Board or University should be uploaded along with the application form. The Caste certificate shall be issued by the Competent Authority, not below the rank of Tehsildar in case of SC, ST, and OBC communities.

Category and Reservation Guidelines
No post is reserved for SC, ST, OBC, or EWS communities in this recruitment. Candidates having the required performance in sports discipline will be selected on the basis of overall merit irrespective of their communities. However, the candidates may upload the communities they belong to. OBC candidates shall also upload OBC Non-Creamy Layer certificate in the Central Govt. format issued not before than 01 year.

Eligible candidates are required to go to the link provided for filling online application through website of RRC SER www.rrcser.co.in. Click on Online/E-Application for Sports Quota OA 2026-27 link and click on the New Registration link. Fill in the personal information viz Name, Date of Birth, Community, Email address and Mobile number to receive registration credentials. Login using the Registration number and password sent in the email or SMS to complete the registration process. Make requisite payment of examination fee using credit card, debit card, or internet banking. Submit the properly filled up application form and take two copies of print out of the form. Selected candidates will have to submit Service Bond requiring them to serve 5 years with the railway. In the event of appointment as Clerk-cum-typist, candidates will be required to acquire typing proficiency of 30 wpm in English or 25 wpm in Hindi.
