Eligibility and qualification
Scientific Officer (SOC)
A Master of Science with specialization in Forensic Science, Chemistry, Zoology, Microbiology, Genetics, Biotechnology or Physics, with at least second class from a recognized University. The candidate should also have at least 02 years practical experience in the relevant field (laboratory or crime scene visit) from a State or Central Forensic Science Laboratory. Knowledge of Computer and Knowledge of Konkani are required. A doctorate in Science in a relevant field is desirable.
Scientific Assistant (DNA)
A Master's Degree with Second class in Microbiology, Genetics, Zoology, Biotechnology or Forensic Science, with Zoology as one of the subjects at the level of the Bachelor's Degree in Science from a recognized University. Knowledge of Computer and Konkani are required.
Scientific Assistant
A Master's Degree in Science with at least second class from a recognised University,. Knowledge of Konkani is required.
Searcher (SOC)
A Bachelor's Degree in Science from a recognized University or equivalent, with knowledge of Computer and Konkani.
Photographer and Videographer
Both posts ask for a Secondary School Certificate from a recognized University or equivalent. After that there are two routes. The first is a Diploma in Photography from a recognized Institute or University or equivalent, plus 1 year of practical experience as a photographer (for the Photographer post) or videographer (for the Videographer post) in a reputed photostudio or concern of repute. The second route is a 6 months certificate course in Photography plus 3 years of experience in the same kind of work. Knowledge of Konkani is required.
Duties, physical standards and Konkani
Contract staff visit scenes of crime in Goa (24x7) at any given point of time, irrespective of Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. No relaxation in working hours is given for any reason whatsoever. Every post except Scientific Assistant asks the candidate to be physically fit for the relevant field.
Age limit, fee and selection

Documents to carry to the interview
Candidates bring all original documents about their educational qualification, experience and other relevant documents, along with 1 set of self attested photocopies, at the interview. Annexure-A lists the originals, including the birth certificate, residence certificate and employment registration card.
Points to check before applying
- Either side can end the contract with 1 month notice. A selected candidate who wants to quit must give 1 month prior notice or surrender 1 month remuneration in lieu of notice.
- Selected candidates sign a contract agreement on non-judicial stamp paper of Rs 100 before the appointment.
- The Director reserves the right to cancel the recruitment process at any time without any further notice.
