The written test is mandatory. A General category candidate must score at least 40% in it, and a DSC, OSC, BCA, BCB or PwBD candidate at least 38%. Only those who pass the written test are allowed into the skill test, where the same thresholds apply: 40% for General and 38% for the reserved groups. Finally, a candidate needs cumulative marks of 50% in General category or 47.5% in DSC/OSC/BCA/BCB/PwBD category across both tests to move to the eligibility check and document verification.
All applicants may sit the written test first, without an eligibility check. Eligibility and documents are examined only for those who clear both tests.
