The Division of Entomology at ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), New Delhi, has invited candidates for a walk-in interview for 1 post of Research Assistant against the project "Integrative taxonomy of bee fauna of India" under the DST Widushi Scheme, headed by Principal Investigator Dr. Debjani Dey. Eligibility
Essential: Minimum B.Sc Agriculture/Life Sciences/Zoology with specialisation in Entomology from a recognised University/College.
Desirable: Experience of collection and preservation of insects for taxonomic studies, and knowledge of various computer applications.
The upper age limit is 50 years, with relaxation to SC/ST/OBC/PH/Ex-Serviceman as per Government of India instructions. Only Indian citizens are eligible to appear for the interview.
Nature of engagement
The post is purely temporary and will be filled on contractual basis for an initial period of six months or the project duration, whichever is earlier. It may be extended on a six-month basis after satisfactory performance, reviewed every 6 months by the Principal Investigator. There is no provision of re-engagement after termination of the scheme, and the selected candidate cannot claim regular appointment at the institute since the position is co-terminus with the scheme.
