Eligibility
Qualification: The academic qualification, teaching and research experience will be as per latest guidelines of NMC vide Gazette notification no. CG-DL-E-05072025-264399 dated 30.06.2025 (Table C & Table D).
The notice also says:
- Retired candidates from Central/ State Govt. / PSU from the equivalent posts are eligible to apply.
- Persons working in recognized/ approved Private Medical Institutions fulfilling eligibility criteria for the post may also apply.
- Candidates with eligibility for a higher post, i.e. Professor/ Associate Professor, would be permitted to be interviewed against a lower post, i.e. Associate/ Assistant Professor.

- Interview: The selection will be made on the basis of performance of the candidate in interview before the Selection Board.

- One set of the prescribed application form enclosed with this notification must be printed on A4 size paper and properly filled up and submitted at the time of document verification on the day of interview.
- A Demand Draft of Rs. 500/- in favour of “ESI Fund Account No. 1”, drawn on any scheduled bank payable at ‘Kolkata’ has to be submitted along with the Application Form.

Points to check before applying
- Late arrival: CANDIDATES REPORTING BEYOND 10:30 A.M FOR INTERVIEW SHALL NOT BE CONSIDERED.
- Contract period: The contract would be for a period of three years or till posting of regular incumbent or attaining 70 years, whichever is earlier, subject to annual renewal of tenure based on review of performance.
- Transport allowance: Super Specialty Teaching Faculty will be entitled for transport allowance with DA on transport allowance as per rules.
- Other allowances: No other allowances will be paid.
- Private practice: No Private practice is allowed during the tenure of service in ESIC.
- More than one post: Separate Demand Drafts to be paid if candidate applies for more than one post.
- Demand Draft date: The Demand Draft must be issued after the date of issue of this advertisement.
- Result: Result will be published on web-site: www.esic.gov.in
- Vacancies may change: Number of vacancies is provisional and may increase or decrease depending on actual requirement.
- Maximum tenure: The maximum tenure of such engagement will not exceed 70 years of the age of faculty.
- Nature of the post: This post is purely contractual and terminable by either side with a prior notice of one month without assigning any reason.
- No confirmation: Selection to this post does not confer the right of confirmation or continuation, as this post is to be filled by selection & appointment of the regular candidates.
- Reserved posts without reserved candidates: In case of non-availability of the candidates of appropriate category, candidates from other category can be considered for appointment on contractual basis for period of less than 45 days against reserved posts for SC, ST & OBC as per order No.36036/3/2018 Estt. (Res.) dated 15.05.2018 of Govt. of India.
- Renewal: The contract will be renewable with further advertisement in absence of reserved candidates.
- DA revision: As and when the orders for revision of rates of DA are issued by Govt of India, the consolidated remuneration shall be raised by an amount equal to DA on the sum of the minimum pay of the pay level mentioned against the post and 20% NPA thereon
- Pay structure basis: ESIC has adopted consolidated Remuneration structure for Teaching Faculty as per ESIC Headquarters OM No. F No. Z-17/11/1/2007/Med.IV (Pt. File) dated 13.04.2022 & OM F No- Z-11012/51/2022-MED-VI dated 08.12.2022.
- Placement of higher-post candidates: In event of selection of such candidates, the candidate would be considered for placement with suitable up-gradation of the lower post as per eligibility; and recommendation of the selection board.
- Travel allowance: No TA/DA will be admissible for joining the institution or medical test and for submission of other documents.
- Demand Draft bank: Demand Draft drawn from any Nationalized/private Bank will be accepted. Application Fee paid by any other mode will not be accepted.
- No right to interview: Mere submission of application does not confer any right to the candidate to be interviewed.
- Incomplete applications: Application should be submitted in the prescribed format only. The applications found to be incomplete will be summarily rejected.
- Provisional interview: Opportunity of interview given to candidates will be on provisional basis.
- Right to vary vacancies: The Dean, ESI-PGIMSR, ESIC Medical College & Hospital, Joka reserves the right to vary these vacancies including increase or decrease or cancellation of filling up of any or all posts or to withdraw offer of engagement, without assigning any reason.
