How to check the result and your prelims marks
- Go to SBI careers, current openings, and open "Recruitment of Probationary Officers", advertisement CRPD/PO/2026-27/09.
- Click "Preliminary Examination Result" to open the PDF of shortlisted roll numbers. The list runs in columns of roll numbers across 11 pages. Search the PDF for your 10 digit roll number.
- For your score, click "Marks Secured by the Candidates in Preliminary Examination". The page is titled for the prelims held on 1st August 2026 and 2nd August 2026.
- Enter your roll number or registration number, your date of birth and the captcha text, then submit.
- Save or print the marks screen for your records.
The PDF only lists roll numbers. It does not print names, categories, marks or cut-off scores, and the advertisement says no sectional cut-off applies at this stage. Category-wise shortlisting is done on aggregate prelims marks.
How the shortlist was drawn
The advertisement fixes the rule: a category-wise merit list is drawn on aggregate prelims marks, and roughly 10 times the vacancies in each category are called for the main exam from the top of that list. With 1,500 vacancies, the 15,802 roll numbers in the PDF sit close to that ratio. The result is subject to two conditions printed at its foot: that you meet the eligibility rules of the advertisement, and that the details you gave at registration are correct. Further details go to shortlisted candidates by SMS and email.
Prelims exam pattern that produced these scores
| Section | Questions | Time |
|---|---|---|
| English Language | 40 | 20 minutes |
| Quantitative Aptitude | 30 | 20 minutes |
| Reasoning Ability | 30 | 20 minutes |
| Total | 100 (100 marks) | 1 hour |
A wrong answer costs 1/4 of the marks for that question. Blank answers carry no penalty. Prelims marks are used only to shortlist; they are not added to the final merit list.

Main exam call letter and what to bring
Shortlisted candidates download the main exam call letter from the same block on the careers page. The "Acquaint Yourself" booklet for the online main exam names 12.09.2026 as the exam day. It sets these rules for the venue:
- Bring the main exam call letter with a recent passport size photograph pasted on it.
- Also bring the prelims call letter and the copy of your photo ID that exam staff stamped at the prelims. Without it you will not be let in.
- Carry one photo identity proof in original and a photocopy, plus pencils, ball point pen, eraser and a blue ink stamp pad.
- Sign and put your left thumb impression on the call letter in front of the invigilator. Signatures in capital letters are rejected.
- Hand in both call letters, the ID photocopy, rough sheets and any scribe declaration before leaving the lab.
At the venue the left eye iris is scanned (right thumb impression for VI candidates), and your photo is captured and matched with the uploaded one. Remove contact lenses for the scan. Watches, belts, caps, ornaments and opaque water bottles are not allowed; only a transparent bottle is.
Main exam pattern (Phase II)
| Test | Questions | Marks | Time |
|---|---|---|---|
| Reasoning & Computer Aptitude | 40 | 60 | 50 minutes |
| Data Analysis & Interpretation | 30 | 60 | 45 minutes |
| General Awareness / Economy / Banking Knowledge | 60 | 60 | 45 minutes |
| English Language | 40 | 20 | 40 minutes |
| Objective total | 170 | 200 | 3 hours |
| Descriptive: emails, situation analysis, report or precis | 3 | 30 | 30 minutes |
The descriptive paper is typed on the computer straight after the objective test and is in English only. You pick 1 email out of 2, 1 situation analysis out of 2, and either a report or a precis. An on-screen calculator is given only for Data Analysis & Interpretation. Every test, including the descriptive paper, has its own minimum score, fixed by the bank according to vacancies.
Scoring rules in the main exam
The main exam booklet spells out how answers are marked, which matters when you compare your own attempt with the result later:
- Every question in the objective tests has five options.
- For each wrong answer, one-fourth of the marks of that question is deducted. If the total penalty in a test comes to a fraction, it is rounded off to the nearest integer.
- A question left blank carries no penalty.
- Each test has its own timer, and you need a minimum score in every test, including the descriptive paper, before your aggregate is even considered.
- The bank compares each candidate's responses with others to detect copying patterns, and can cancel a candidature where answers appear to be shared.
Rough work must be done only on the sheets given at the lab, with your name, roll number, registration number and date of exam written on every sheet.
Selection after the main exam: psychometric test, group exercise and interview
About 3 times the category-wise vacancies are shortlisted for Phase III from the main exam merit list, subject to a minimum aggregate decided by the bank. Phase III has three parts:
- Psychometric test: personality profiling, either proctored or at chosen centres. All questions are compulsory and the findings go to the interview panel.
- Group exercise: 20 marks.
- Interview: 30 marks.
For the final merit list, the main exam total of 230 is scaled to 75 and the Phase III total of 50 is scaled to 25, giving a score out of 100. You must qualify in Phase II and Phase III separately.
