Eligibility
Age: candidates should be between 18 to 25 years as on 01-01-2027, born between 02-01-2002 and 01-01-2009 (both dates inclusive). No age relaxation, upper or lower, is permissible.
Educational qualification:
- Level 1: 10th Pass, or ITI, or equivalent, or NAC granted by NCVT.
- Level 3/2: Passed 12th (+2 stage) or equivalent, or Passed Matriculation plus Course Completed Act Apprenticeship for technical categories, or Passed Matriculation plus ITI approved by NCVT/SCVT for technical categories.
- Level 5/4: Graduation.
No relaxation in minimum educational qualification is permissible, and the qualification must be from a Government recognised institution. Candidates awaiting results of a final examination are not eligible to apply.
Sports achievements considered for this notification must be from the current and/or immediate previous two financial years, that is on or after 01-04-2024 to the date of the notification.

Candidates recruited shall be placed only at the minimum of pay in the respective level of the 7th CPC Pay Matrix.
Selection process
Recruitment is based on performance during trials, assessment of sports achievements and educational qualification. All eligible candidates will be called for trials to assess sports performance and suitability. Candidates securing 25 marks or more (out of 40) in the trial are declared FIT and considered for the next stage; those below 25 marks are NOT FIT and are not assessed further.
Distribution of marks (maximum 100):
- Game skill, physical fitness and Coach's observation during trials: 40 marks.
- Assessment of recognised sports achievements as per norms: 50 marks.
- Educational qualification: 10 marks.
Minimum qualifying marks: Level-5/4, 70 marks; Level-3/2, 65 marks; Level-1, 60 marks. The offer of appointment is purely on merit and availability of vacancies. Selected sportspersons must execute a Service Bond for 5 years and will be on probation for 2 years, extendable up to a further 2 years if performance is unsatisfactory.
