EIL Associate Engineer Grade I Recruitment 2026 – Walk-in for 20 Posts

Engineers India Limited (EIL), a Navratna PSU, has invited applications from experienced engineers for engagement on fixed term basis in its SCM (Inspection) department, vide advertisement HRD/Rectt/Advt/2026-27/10. The notice lists 16 posts for Associate Engineer Grade I (Inspection Mechanical/Metallurgical) and 4 posts for Associate Engineer Grade I (Inspection Electrical), giving 20 posts in total across the two positions. Online registration is open from 26 September 2026 and closes on 12 October 2026. Selection is through screening followed by a personal interview, for which shortlisted candidates report in person; EIL calls this a walk-in interview even though registration itself is online.

Eligibility

For Position A (Mechanical/Metallurgical): BE/B.Tech/B.Sc (Engg.) in Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering with at least 60% or equivalent CGPI, and a minimum of 2 years of post-qualification relevant experience in inspection of pressure vessels, heat exchangers, columns/towers, reactors and other major fabricated static equipment made as per ASME, or pumps and compressors made and tested as per API for refinery and petrochemical services.

For Position B (Electrical): BE/B.Tech/B.Sc (Engg.) in Electrical Engineering with at least 60% or equivalent CGPI, and a minimum of 2 years of post-qualification relevant experience in inspection of electrical equipment such as switch boards, motors, transformers, alternators, synchronous generators, variable frequency drives, uninterrupted power supplies, electrical control systems, battery chargers, power and control cables, and electrical bulk items like light fittings, junction boxes, cable jointing kits and cable glands.

The upper age limit for both positions is 32 years as on the cut-off date of 31.08.2026. Age relaxation is 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), 10 years for PwD-General/EWS, 13 years for PwD-OBC (NCL) and 15 years for PwD-SC/ST. The upper age limit is also relaxable for persons with disabilities (by 10 years) and for Ex-Servicemen.

Remuneration

Associate Engineer Grade I will draw a consolidated monthly remuneration (including HRA and PF) of Rs. 64,000 in X category cities, Rs. 60,800 in Y category cities and Rs. 57,600 in Z category cities.

Other benefits include reimbursement of medical insurance premium up to Rs. 2,00,000 per annum for self, reimbursement of out-of-pocket expenses for working beyond standard hours, coverage under the company’s GPAI scheme, travelling allowance for official duty outside the place of posting, and 2 days of paid leave for each completed month.

Selection process

Applications and certificates are screened on the day of interview to check eligibility. Candidates meeting the eligibility conditions are called for a Personal Interview. Interviews may run up to 8:00 PM on the same day and, if needed, continue the next day, in which case candidates make their own stay arrangements. The interview process will be held at EIL’s Gurugram, Mumbai, Pune, Vadodara, Chennai and Kolkata offices for both Position A and B; candidates report at 8:00 AM, and the exact date, time and venue will be intimated separately to the registered email id.

How to apply

Eligible candidates register online through the career link on the EIL website, http://www.engineersindia.com. While filling the form, percentage of marks should be rounded down to the lower whole number (for example, 60.9 becomes 60) and CGPA rounded down to the lower decimal (for example, 6.95 becomes 6.9). Before starting registration, keep a scanned passport size colour photograph (.jpg/.jpeg, not more than 75 KB) and a scanned signature (.jpg/.jpeg, not more than 25 KB) ready for upload.

Candidates are not required to send a printout of the online application. Instead, they must bring 6 copies of the duly filled and submitted application form, with a recent colour photograph affixed, at the time of the walk-in interview.
