DERC is hiring its senior legal bench on deputation, not fresh graduates
The Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission has issued a notice for three Group-A legal leadership posts filled entirely by deputation: Executive Director (Law), Joint Director (Law) and Deputy Director (Law), one vacancy each. Officers from Central, State or UT Government departments, statutory, autonomous, constitutional, cooperative, local government or judicial bodies, and PSUs under government control can apply online by 26.10.2026.
Executive Director (Law): senior legal leadership at Level 14
This post is pegged to Pay Matrix Level 14 (Rs. 144,200 to Rs. 218,200) and its core profile covers senior legal leadership, regulatory work, and administrative, commercial and contract law. Eligibility needs a Law Degree from a recognized University, plus either holding an analogous post on a regular basis, or 2 years of regular service in Pay Matrix Level 13A (Grade Pay Rs. 8,900 under the 6th CPC), or 3 years in Level 13 (Grade Pay Rs. 8,700). Lease accommodation, staff car for the top post, and a three-year term extendable to six
Selected deputationists get Lease Accommodation with a rental ceiling of Rs. 87,280 per month for Executive Director, Rs. 86,360 for Joint Director, and Rs. 76,010 for Deputy Director. The Executive Director gets staff car facility as per staff car rules, and all levels get transport allowance and vehicle support for official movements. The appointment runs for up to three years in the first instance, extendable to a maximum of six years at the Commission's discretion, based on a performance appraisal report and subject to the parent department's concurrence. Other facilities on offer include medical allowance, telephone and internet reimbursement, newspaper and periodicals, and Children Education Allowance.

A No Objection Certificate indicating vigilance clearance from the parent department is required at the time of interview if not already uploaded.
The Commission can withdraw a vacancy after applications come in
The notice states the number of vacancies may vary, and DERC reserves the right not to fill any of the existing vacancies. If a vacancy is withdrawn, no further action will be taken on applications received against it, and the advertisement for that vacancy is treated as withdrawn. Meeting the minimum eligibility does not entitle a candidate to be called for interview; more stringent shortlisting criteria may apply.
