Eligibility
Option A: M.E./M.Tech./MS(R)/BS-MS or equivalent degree in CSE/IT/Maths and Computing or relevant discipline with 60% marks or equivalent CGPA. 5% relaxation in marks for SC/ST/PwD/EWS/OBC-NCL candidates. Students awaiting final results may also apply.
Option B: B.E./B.Tech./M.Sc./MCA in CSE/Maths/CS/Maths and Computing or relevant discipline with 80% marks or equivalent CGPA. 5% relaxation in marks for SC/ST/PwD/EWS/OBC-NCL candidates. Valid GATE qualification is mandatory for B.Tech candidates. Students awaiting final results may also apply.
If the M.E./M.Tech degree of the candidate is using GATE, a valid GATE score is not required. If it is not using GATE, a valid GATE score is mandatory. Candidates with a B.Tech degree will require a valid GATE score.
Area of specialization: Design and Analysis of Algorithms, Graph Algorithms, Algorithmic Fairness, Reinforcement Learning.
Desirable qualification: research experience in the aligned areas of the project will be given preference.
Age limit
Upper age limit: 28 years. Age relaxation: the upper age limit is relaxable up to 5 years for ST/SC/PWD/EWS/OBC-NCL candidates.

Rs. 37,000/- + 18% HRA as applicable for the years 1-2. INR 42,000 + 18% HRA as applicable for the year 3.
Selection process
IIT Jammu will conduct an appropriate written examination and/or interview for eligible candidates, in line with existing guidelines. Merely possessing the prescribed qualification does not ensure a call for interview; candidates may be shortlisted based on merit and the need of the project. Only shortlisted candidates will be called for the written test and interview, and will be informed by e-mail. The written test and interview will be held using the offline platform.
