Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
- Candidates must possess a Bachelor Degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a recognized University or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government.
- Candidates must be registered on the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) portal (nats.education.gov.in).
- Candidates who have already completed apprenticeship training or possess job experience of one year or more after obtaining degree qualifications are not eligible to apply.
Age Limit (as on 01.09.2026)
- Minimum Age: 20 years.
- Maximum Age: 28 years.
- Candidates must have been born between 02.09.1998 and 01.09.2006 (both dates inclusive).
- Age relaxation applies as per Government of India rules: SC/ST candidates receive 5 years relaxation, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates receive 3 years, and PwBD candidates receive 10 years relaxation.
Monthly Stipend and Training Terms
Selected apprentices receive a consolidated monthly stipend of Rs. 15,000 per month for the duration of the one-year training period. The stipend is paid directly to the apprentice bank account, which includes the subsidy contribution from the Government of India under the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme.
Apprentices are not entitled to any additional allowances or staff benefits. Apprenticeship training under the Apprentices Act, 1961 does not guarantee employment or regular absorption in Canara Bank after completion of the 12-month tenure.

Selection Process
The selection of apprentices is conducted through the following stages:
- Merit Shortlisting: Candidates are shortlisted based on their percentage of marks scored in Graduation and Class 12 examinations.
- Local Language Test: Shortlisted candidates must appear for a test assessing proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding the local language of the applied state. Candidates who studied the specified local language in 10th or 12th standard are exempted upon producing valid certificate proof.
- Document Verification: Verification of original academic certificates, identity proof, caste certificate (if applicable), and NATS registration credentials.
- Medical Fitness Examination: Final engagement is subject to clearing pre-engagement medical standards prescribed by the bank.
